Equipment

  • 1 smoker with wood chips
  • 1 meat thermometer
  • 1 saucepan

Ingredients

Chicken Wings

  • 3 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Honey Garlic Glaze

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels and coat them evenly with the paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Let them rest as you prepare the smoker.
  • Set the smoker to 225°F and add your choice of wood chips. Hickory or applewood are excellent options for these wings.

Cooking

  • Place the wings on the smoker rack and smoke for about 2 hours, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • For a crispier skin, increase the smoker temperature to 375°F for the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  • While the wings are smoking, prepare the glaze. Melt the butter in a saucepan, then add honey, garlic, and soy sauce. Stir until combined and slightly thickened.

Serving

  • Remove the wings from the smoker and toss them in the honey garlic glaze to coat evenly. Serve hot.

Storage

  • Store any leftover wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
