Equipment

  • 1 large skillet
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley optional

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pat the chicken breasts dry. In a shallow dish, mix flour, salt, and pepper. Dredge chicken in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet.
  • In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic, sauté until fragrant. Stir in honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar.
  • Mix water and cornstarch to form a slurry. Add to the skillet, stirring until sauce thickens.
  • Return chicken to the skillet, turning to coat in the sauce. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until well-glazed.

Serving

  • Garnish with parsley. Serve immediately with your choice of sides for a complete meal.

Storage

  • Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat or in the microwave.

Notes

Pro Tips: Ensure the sauce simmers enough to thicken properly. If you're out of apple cider vinegar, white vinegar or lemon juice can be used as alternatives.
Ingredient Substitutions: Chicken thighs can be used instead of breasts for a juicier result. Red pepper flakes can add a spicy kick.
How to Serve: Pair with rice or mashed potatoes to soak up the sauce. Add a side of steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
Storage & Freshness: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Make-Ahead Tips: Prepare the sauce ahead of time and store it separately. Combine with freshly cooked chicken when ready to serve.
