Equipment

  • 1 deep fryer or large skillet
  • 1 Mixing bowl large
  • 1 wire rack

Ingredients

Chicken and Marinade

  • 1 pound chicken tenders
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang paste
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Breading

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

For Frying

  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine gochujang paste with water. Add chicken tenders, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the chicken is fully coated. Let marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  • Prepare three shallow dishes: one with flour, second with beaten eggs, and third with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic and onion powder.
  • Dredge each marinated chicken tender in flour, dip in eggs, and coat with breadcrumb mixture. Press the breadcrumbs gently to adhere.

Frying

  • In a deep fryer or large skillet, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Ensure there is enough oil to fully submerge the chicken tenders.
  • Carefully place chicken tenders in hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove fried chicken tenders and place on a wire rack to drain excess oil. This helps maintain their crispiness.

Serving

  • Enjoy hot with your favorite dipping sauces such as ranch or spicy mayo. Pair with sides like coleslaw or fries for a complete meal.

Storage

  • Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in an oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
